Prices and specifications were read from each provider's own site and public price data on 1 August 2026, with the Contabo figures re-checked in its live configurator on 6 August 2026. Every competitor figure above is a net price, because Hetzner, Contabo and OVH all publish list prices excluding VAT and your local rate is added on top. Contabo's site in particular renders prices with the VAT of whichever country it detects you in, so the same Cloud VPS 4 shows as €6.55 at Germany's 19% and €6.88 at a 25% rate. The Luxvps price is final: what is shown is what you pay, with no setup fee and no required add-ons. Read the competitor columns as net-plus-VAT rather than as a like-for-like total. The with backups and IPv4 row adds each provider's own published add-ons: Hetzner charges 20% of the plan price for backups plus €0.50/mo for an IPv4 address, Contabo charges €1.65/mo for Auto Backup, and OVH charges €1.84/mo for its 7-day Premium backup, whose free tier keeps 24 hours. On Windows, Contabo's €8.00/mo net for Windows Server Datacenter (2016 through 2025, all at the same rate) bills as €9.52 with 19% VAT and €10.00 at 25%, and it more than doubles the month-to-month cost of Cloud VPS 4; Hetzner's Cloud image list is Linux only; OVH lists Windows as a paid option without publishing its price on the VPS page. One thing worth knowing: Hetzner's entire Cost-Optimized range, CX33 included, is currently flagged as not available on hetzner.com, and the cheapest 8 GB plan you can actually order there is CPX32 at €35.49/mo.
